Z50 launched Sat. First impression is it's tiny. One SD card and a very small battery. I was shocked and would not buy it.

I am going to the launch in November anyway to have a look at it. I was more impressed with the Z6 but no intention of buying one.

Battery life is a joke.

I accept your opinion that you prefer less weight so no grip.

Just for the record you can turn off the shutter button on the grip when not using portrait position.

I obviously have a grip on my D3 and one came with my D810 I kinda like them as gives a more secure hold on camera when you have heavy glass on front of it. Portrait buttons and extra battery are a bonus too. I hate charging battery at 50 per cent.

Z5 should get a few customers for Christmas.

See today a grip for Z6 and Z7 but not buttons for portraits ? Weird.

Just back from la la land where I picked up a brand new grip for the D500 at 20% discount. Great price as less then a used one here.
