Little problem with P7000

Post by Sparkey »

Today for first time the lens cover refuses to completely retract.
I can push it back with my finger but thats not the point.
Seems to be a problem according to the internet so back she goes next week to see what Nikon says.

They better up their quality controls! That's a bummer.

It's surprising how many of those little cameras have trouble with the lens. My daughter's Nikon camera had problems with the lens extending. Sane with my nieghbor Sony. Must be the plastic gears they use in the construction. If I buy one, think I'd get it from COSTCO because they have a very good return policy.

Its only the little screen cover that refuses to retract fully. Prob nylon gears alright. Shame really cause nothing wrong with lens. Today is holiday over here so will drop it in tomorrow.

Unable to fix in the shop even though they tried.

Gone back to Nikon.

Hear that parts and general Nikon stock is drying up everywhere.

Bet there will be price increase soon too.

I think it will be a long wait for anyone trying to get anything from Nikon. The disaster in Japan has been lost in the news for the last week or so. I hope things are getting better for them!
