SB600 lost a beat at recent bike show..... :o 2-3 hours on continuous shooting. Second set of batteries cured the problem.
Still not sure whether the problem is the batteries or the Speedlight.
Just checked on price of SB910.....holy shit Batman.

Was the flash overheating? I've heard that is a problem.....

No it was not overheating.
Only problem was it refused to power up.
Trying to rule out batteries were dudd or not fully charged.

Just noticed that there is a SB700 Speedlight available at normal person price too. Might be a better option if I have to purchase in near future.

Anybody got any input of SB910 versus SB700 ?

Even old age loggers comments would be very welcome. Cause that know more about it than i will ever learn anyway.

Haven't been keeping up with all the new camera stuff. Afraid if I did would buy something. The old D3 and D200 is still doing a good job and haven't had any trouble with my speed lite. Only replaced the batteries once. Probably wouldn't hurt to change them out though.

I have the older SB800. It was replaced by the SB900. Mine has been working fine, so far.....

You are not going to believe this.............

The battery charger was faulty.
I have 2 of them and 1 of them kicks out after less than 5 minutes.
I put 2 sets of 4 batteries on charge specially for the bike show in different chargers.
Came back later and stuck them into SB600 and spare pouch.
After short while at show the first set went down. Obviously the ones from the faulty charger.
Problem solved. The SB600 is back in the game.
