Antenna down
Antenna down
The wind broke my long wire antenna a couple days ago. Yesterday decided to put it back up. My new bow and arrow worked great for shooting the fishing line over the top of one of the firs. The antenna is now higher that it was. Got a good report out of Vermont last night. (For Sparkey's info, Vermont is all the way across the US for Washington), Not use how long it will stay up there though.

During the first day of the big earthquake in Japan when all the telephones and cell towers were down. The Amatuer Radio crowd took over and was passing messages from and to Japan for people who was worried about their love ones. So guess there are still some needs for the radios when a emergency come up.

One of the best things about ham radio. In the past, it was a pool of talent for the military. I'm not sure how true that is today.
