Here we go again

Post by JohnSR »

The first snow of the season. We are suspose to get another 4 inches this afternoon. I have to run to the post office and am not looking forward to the trip as the roads are already icy. If you look in the middle of the frame you can see Sparkey's favorite looking back at me.

Better you than me!

Having said that, my wife and I may move to Iowa in the next few years. If we do, I'll just make sure I don't have to drive on days like this!

No problem there but had to take Mary Ann to the vets at 6 p.m. as she was slubbering real bad. Going wasn't bad but let me tell you, it was hell coming home. During the time I was in the vet's office it snowed three inches. The temp had dropped to 18 degrees F. and the road was a sheet of ice.
There is a small hill between the office and home and cars were having trouble getting up it. Good thing was I had to go down it. I watched several cars slide into the ditch as they tried to make it up the hill. A couple front-wheel cars were stuck in the middle of the road, blocking traffic. All I can say is I'm thankful that I have a all-wheel drive vehicle. I just pushed a button and locked it into 4-wheel drive and really didn't have any problems with the road. Jon if you move to Iowa, would sugget a 4-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Hey Sparkey, do you ride your motorcycle on icy roads?

John,

I've got a 1999 Ford F150 with on the fly 4 wheel drive. So, that should not be a problem. One thing about Iowa, it is basically flat!
