Wet plate: Pre-Kodak, glass plates, tin-types, coated and exposed wet.

Yes Sparkey, they made images before DSLR's!

There are still a number of people that do this. You mostly see them at Civil War re-enactments here in the states. You may also see them at historical sites here.

The wet plate process was one of the first successful photographic processes. Starting about 1850.

Nope, gave up on the wet stuff when I got my Nikon CP950 a few years ago and saw how easy it was to go digital. :D
