I saw the post on dpreview and thought I'd sign up. DPR is great to go to and snicker at the latest rumors, but lack a certain substance sometimes. It can also be annoying to see a thread you are interested in read it, type up a post and then realize that 50 people beat you to the punch and the thread has spun off in a totally different direction.
Anyway... My name is Adam, I'm 25 and live in upstate NY. I consider home to be Vancouver WA, and am in NY with the Army. I get out next month and will probably be staying in the area though, which is pretty nice and very green.
Photography is tied for my main interest right now with football (watching, not playing). Go Seahawks! I photograph all sorts of stuff, but my favorites are Sports/action and event photography. I'd love to get a better laptop, a real photo printer and some portable battery packs and go to community events and run a print while you wait type business.
My dream lenses is the Sigma 120-300mm 2.8 EX, which I plan on getting when I sell my house. I'm using a 20D right now, but am eagerly awaiting the 50D release and hope to upgrade then. Although if it doesn't impress me I may get a 40D instead. The 20D is a classic but the RAW buffer is a joke.

Hi Guys
Re: Hi Guys
Hi Adam. Glad to see someone from the Pacific NorthWest. I live in McKenna/Yelm Washington. McKenna is located on the eastside of Fort Lewis which butts up against the impact area. I am into landscapes and spend lots of time exploring the Olympic and Rainier areas. Like your dog shots. Here is one of Mary Ann. She is an English Bull Terrier and is seven months old.
Three Scores and 14 years old and still going strong.
Re: Hi Guys
Adam,
I'm glad that you have joined us! You have taken some nice images. I look foreward to seeing more!
My daughter was also in Iraq about two or more years ago. She was a crew chief for the ANG F16's. Her group from Michigan spent only three or four months there, but it was during the time when their base was being hit every day with rocket and morter fire. So, I think she paid her dues!
A tip, you can also embed your images directly into this site, so that anyone who views them, does not have to click a link. That is done by clicking on the 'Img' button while creating the message, and inserting a full link to the image. Here is an example:

In the end it doesn't really matter what you do, just that you were there. My daughter was also in Iraq about two or more years ago. She was a crew chief for the ANG F16's.
