From Wikipedia:
Alligators reach breeding maturity at about 8 to 13 years of age, at which time they are about 6 to 7 feet (1.8–2.1 m) long. From then on, growth continues at a slower rate. The oldest males may grow to be 16 feet (4.85 m)[17] long and weigh up to 1,200 pounds (510 kg) during a lifespan of 30 or more years. A recent study by scientists from the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory in South Carolina reveals that up to 70 percent of A. mississippiensis females chose to remain with their partner, often for many years
The second image shows a gator about 12-13 feet in length. So, maybe 20 or more years old? Just a guess!

There's some good eating there. Gator tail tastes like veal. Had some when I was stationed at Ft Polk LA.

I've never had it, but there is a place near me that sells it. Maybe I should try it.

Think you would enjoy it. Did you ever get the oysters we were talking about awhile ago?
