My D2x will soon be Infrared only!

I just shipped my D2x to Life Pixel to have it converted to infrared. Since I got my D700, the D2x has seen little use. I have really liked using my infrared converted D70, but always wished it had more resolution, and better ergonomics. So, the D2x is going to get converted, and the D70 is going to get sold!

With luck, the camera should return from Life Pixel before the third week in January.

Tracking information says that the package left Indianapolis, Indiana 1:53 p.m. yesterday. The total trip is 2973.34 miles! It is going to Mukileto, Washington. That is not too far from John Sr. place....

They do not replace the sensor. They remove the Bayer filter that is in front of the sensor, and replace it with an infrared filter.

I just got word that UPS will delivery the D2x this Thursday.

I'll be able to start using it the next day......

Sound great. Bet you are looking forward to getting it. That is the same date that a new battery for my laptop will be delivered. The last battery only lasted 10 years

I haven't had a laptop last me more than 5 years, let alone the battery!

That is why I prefer workstations, not laptops....

The laptop is used with the ham gear. Most of the programs I have for for the radio is old and won't run above Win95. That is the main reason I keep the laptop.
