Never picked up a Canon camera so don't have anything to say about them other than a lot of photographers use them. They seem to think their lens are better that the Nikons.

Have you looked at the one that is compition with the D3 series. Isn't it about the same size as the D3?

No- dont really look at Canon side of shop any more.

For the cost difference of the 300mm plus range lenses, you could buy a Canon 600mm F4 and their 7D camera for a lot less than the Nikon 600mm F4. If I had known that up front, this may have been a Canon board!

Plenty of white lenses at bike racing events but you see quite a few Nikons now too.

Aren't some of the big Nikon lens also white?
