Loving It

Post by JohnSR »

The more I use the Wood Mizer the more I like it. It makes milling lumber so easy compared to my old machine. Reroofed the wood working shed now waiting for my knees to quit hurting so I can finish it up. Would have hated to have to purchase all those 1X6X8 feet boards. Will never use any of those wood chipped 4X8s again. The ones I used the first time on the roof dissolved due to water getting under the roofing.

Are the logs you are using already cured? You don't have to air dry the lumber before use?

I always thought that chip board used water proof glue? If so, they should not disolve if they get wet?

How many wooded acres to you have? When will you run out of timber to cut?

Fir drys pertty fast so am not worried. There will be some shrinkage but can live with that. Guess they do use waterproof glue but once the board sets in a damp area, they still come apart. I have more trees than I can cut with the few years left. :?

Yes, forgot to put in the last message, had to get Sparkeys Ark finished before that date. Am cutting cedar for the next few days. Will probably cut them to fence lengths as the neighbors were asking for some plus the trees are in the way for dropping the firs. It sure smells up the area when cutting cedar.

I'm building it in a kite form. You have to come over here and put it togather.
