Sittingbourne Station

Post by Rick Shutterman »

Hi folks, sorry about the long absence, but the truth is I've actually been so busy I'd clean forgotten about posting some more pictures.

So just to get started these were taken at our local station, yeaterda morning and this morning. The lack of trains reflects the weather, which currently is about -5 centigrade and snowing.

It does look cold! I understand that they had to close one of the major airports?

They closed Gatwick Airport for 36 hours because the snow was just causing a white out there.

We normally get a cold snap but not often this early, January-February is more usual, at least here in Kent.
We had at least a weeks warning that it was on it's way but still the local authorities couldn't cope

The snow came down alot more during the night and here's 3 more taken yesterday morning.

The forecast says that we're going to be spared of it this weekend with some more snow returning next week.

Nice photos, Rick. Don't think I would want to be in the tall bus when it started to slide on the slick roads. It looks top-heavy to me.
