Barred Owl

Post by JohnSR »

Was feeding the horse and looked up in a tree near her watering trough and saw this owl. it was about 18 inches tall. Had to look it up in my bird book to figure what kind of owl it was. Used the D200 as it was loaded with the 70/300 lens. Pix not as sharp as it could be but not bad for leaning against a tree and shooting at 8th of a second.

Not bad at all! It has been a few years since I have heard the call of owls here. I always like the sound. I only hear it in the late evening, so too late to get a photo....
