I used to have an S2 which was a great, if battery hungry camera and it was that which prompted me to change to Nikon, I use two D200s as my mainstay cameras.
I was tempted by the S5 and considered getting one as an extra back up camera and for it's different qualities. Sadly it was discontinued and Fuji don't look like they're going to produce a replacement anytime soon.

Just reading this one I seem to have forgotten about Fuji lately.

They dont feature in my local camera shop any more.

Have Nikon stopped co-operating with those guys ?

Just curious.

The S5 seems to be quite hard to find now which is a shame and fuji seem to have pulled out of the DSLR market at least for the time being. You may remember that I "cut my teeth" on a Fujifilm Finepix S2pro. I sold it to a colleague of mine in the North East and the camera is still doing sterling service as part of a remote rig recording building works above the M6 motorway.

We can only hope that something will emerge eventually from Fuji. The strange extended range DSLR that records into the IR and UV range is still available. bizarrely.

Say Jon, why don't you send a email to these people and see if they might like to rejoin the forum. Think they left due to no activity.
