There have been a number of questions on the photography forums,
on how to determine, how many times a camera's shutter has been
activated. On most of the Nikon DSLR's, there is an EXIF tag
that keeps track of this. This value can never be set to zero,
unless a repair technician replaces the shutter.
This program will display the shutter count for an image file.
Unlike many utilities out there, this program can read either
JPG or NEF image files.
This program only works with Nikon D40/D50/D70/D80/D200/D2H/D2X image files.

I hope this explains what this program is all about.
